Credit 1: Intellectual property issues and social media

One of the least understood areas in digital and social media marketing is intellectual property law. Yet it’s extremely important: the consequences of not heeding these rules can result in extensive fines, lost credibility, possible suspension or termination of owned social media channels, and a negative impact on sales. This Credit Unit will cover issues related to copyright, the creative commons, sharing policies, and the ethics around social media sharing.
