Final Final

We have several objectives in this course:

Grading:                                                                                                Final Grade Scale:

Discussion:                     15%                                                A            100-90%

Labs:                               35%                                                B            80-89%

Worksheets:                    15%                                                C            70-79%

Exams:                            35%                                                D            60-69%

                                                                                               F               0-59%

Total:                               100%

I -- Incomplete.  An 'I' grade is assigned if for some reason a student cannot complete all components of the course by the end of the academic term.  To receive an 'I' grade, the instructor and student must agree upon a contract that will spell out when uncompleted work will be turned in.  The student has until the end of next term to complete all unfinished work

Y -- No basis for grade.  A 'Y' grade is given if there is not enough competed work for the instructor to assign a grade.  Generally, a 'Y' grade cannot be assigned to a student who has completed more that the first three weeks of class.

Explination of Tasks:

Discussion: Since we have no in-class time class, it is essential that you participate at least verbally with other class mates to obtain some sort of “class” experience. Discussion is graded fairly heavily in my class because I think you should get you money’s worth, and since you are paying to get online you should get some points out of it.

Labs: A portion will be devoted to a lab in each section. These labs will help you visualize the things that we talk about in class. You will not be able to make up labs and they are worth a lot, so please try and get these done on time.

Worsheets: These essentially tell me you are learning something, watching something, reading something. Without these I have no idea if you are even googling answers (which is fine I guess because at least you are doing something). So, think of these as a guide for learning the information

Exams: There will be 1 cumulitive exam. If you cannot take the exam for any reason, now would be the time to say something. Please talk to me prior to the exam so we can find some other options.

Cheating and Plagiarism will not be tolerated in this class. That means, when working in groups, use your own words and don’t copy what anyone else has on their paper. I will most assuredly see both pieces of work and will have to give both a zero, so do yourself a favor and take the extra time. If cheating or plagiarism becomes an issue the LBCC administration will be contacted for further consequences. Bottom line, DON’T DO IT.

Special Needs: If you need special accommodations due to documented disabilities or medical information I need to know about tell me within the first week. For information contact Disability Services, 917-4789.
