Now is your opportunity to demonstrate what you have learned about photosynthesis and cellular respiration. After completing this Competency Assessment, you will be submitting a copy of the document below for grading through the course website. Upon completion of this Competency Assessment with the minimum required score, you will have completed the Photosynthesis and Respiration Module. In this Competency Assessment you will be drawing sketches of each of the chemical cycles introduced in the Module. For this reason, you will need to print the following document:
Making and Breaking Energy (Google Doc)
You have a few options on how you can submit your diagrams. Since this Competency Assessment requires you to hand draw the cycles, you will need some way to create an image of your work and create a file that can be uploaded into Canvas.
There a few ways this can be accomplished:
If you have a scanner, you can scan your work (in color) back into your computer, save it is a PDF, and upload the PDF into Canvas.
If you have a digital camera, take a picture of each page, being sure that it is clearly displayed and easy to read, and upload the image onto your computer to upload into Canvas.
If you have a cell phone camera, you can use it to take a photo of each page as well. You can email yourself the pictures, which can then be downloaded onto your computer for renaming and upload.
If none of the above options are possible, you can take a picture of each page using your webcam. However, how to do this is dependent on the type of webcam you use. If you cannot figure out how to do this, you will need to contact your Navigator for assistance.
The labeling and descriptions are what your Assessment Evaluator will be using to determine your grasp on the material, so it is essential that whatever form of submission you use, your sketches are clear and easy to see! If you are using a camera or webcam to create an image, do not attempt to fit all the cycles into one image. Take separate pictures and submit as many as needed for evaluation.
